financial planning industry. CFP®s are the largest
identifiable body of licensed financial planners in Canada with
upwards of 17,000 professionals meeting the high standards of this
designation.
The CFP®
exams are extremely challenging. Despite having completed the CFP®
core curriculum, wise students generally look for

| Step 2: Register for
the CFP® Exams |
To become a CFP® you need to
meet the education criteria, as well as other
criteria set by the standards council, such as relevant work
experience. To avoid disappointment before embarking on the CFP® you
should ensure you will meet these criteria.
Once a student has completed the core curriculum it is time to
register with the Financial Planning Standards Council to write the
applicable exams.
