CFP® Exam Preparation

Step 1: Complete a CFP® core curriculum program

To write the CFP® exams you are required to first complete an approved core curriculum education program.

Step 2: Register for the CFP® Exams

To become a CFP® you need to meet the education criteria, as well as other criteria set by the standards council, such as relevant work experience. To avoid disappointment before embarking on the CFP® you should ensure you will meet these criteria.

Once a student has completed the core curriculum it is time to register with the Financial Planning Standards Council to write the applicable exams.

Note that candidates must also complete an FPSC-approved Capstone Course before writing the Financial Planning Examination Level 2 (FPE2™).
